NDP | Jack Layton Campaign
POLITICAL ADVERTISING, COPYWRITING, CONCEPTUALIZATION, BRANDING, CAMPAIGN
Political Advertising? Yup, I’ve dabbled in it.
One dalliance was this foray back in 2011. I was part of a freelance group that handled the Federal Election Campaign for the NDP, which at that time was helmed by Jack Layton.
The team did a number of campaigns to target different issues, voters, and time periods leading up to the election.
This was my conceptual and copywriting contribution – based on Canadian Heritage Moments, but with the twist of being things they should be ashamed of.
Maclean’s said “(it) was kicking the shit out of other political advertising.” The ‘Orange Wave’ happened and we helped the NDP become the Official Opposition for the first time.
I’ve also worked on election campaigns for other Federal and Municipal elections, when asked, and when I believe in the platform/candidate.
