Copywriter
& Creative Director
Andrew Bradley
Hi. I guess you’re here to learn more about me?
Well, I’m most known as the Copywriter of IKEA’s ‘Start the Car’ commercial, in May of 2024 crowned ‘Best Canadian Ad of the 21st Century’ by Campaign Canada.
Currently on a long-term contract at Broken Heart Love Affair where I’m working with Creative Director/Art Director Dan Bache on various projects and pitches.
For over 20 years, I’ve helped shape ideas and projects for Canada’s top ad agencies and their clients as an Ideator, CD, ACD, Audio Director, and OCADU Copywriting Instructor.
Most recently, I wrote and helped produce ‘Lightrunner’, a spot for The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. And a campaign I ideated for Mastercard, ‘Score Cards’ for McCann Canada was awarded Gold at the 2025 ADCCs, and featured in the Communication Arts Advertising Annual for ‘Integrated Campaign’.
And I’m not nearly as cool as that photo might indicate.
'a writer's writer...'
Known as ‘a writer’s writer’, I have experience with all kinds of brand tones and media. In my career, agencies have called upon me for humour, smart headlines, longer copy, emotive brand writing, and bigger pitch-type thinking.
My work has been recognized at Cannes, The One Show, the LIAs, Communication Arts, and closer to home at the ADCCs, Marketing, Applied Arts, and shows that don’t even exist anymore.
And why ‘Fuji Tamale’? I’m half Japanese and half Central American. It made sense at the time.
Agencies I've worked for recently
Broken Heart Love Affair, Forsman&Bodenfors, OPEN, FCB Toronto, Puff Digital, Leo Burnett, Cundari, Jackman, Juliet, and Cossette Toronto.
